What is the Regional Knowledge Network?
The Regional Knowledge Network is a central resource for reliable information on the binational Buffalo Niagara region.
With the goal of building regional understanding and informing decision making, the UB Regional Institute developed RKN to provide government officials, regional leaders, community activists, researchers and citizens with access to up-to-date data on the region.
RKN offers data, maps and resources on nine topic areas covering Western New York, Southern Ontario and the 264 municipalities within the region. RKN also features interactive tools to customize information requests and search, sort and analyze data.
- View or download Data to learn about regional topics
- Map data to view patterns in regional issues
- Review Resources for additional topic information, including publications, links and lists
“Knowledge by Topic”
- View neighborhood-specific data through Address Analyzer
- Access data snapshots, or Community Quick Reports, for select communities
- Compare Places across multiple topic areas or view data profiles for single communities
- View Reference Maps of the various communities in binational Buffalo Niagara
“Knowledge by Place”
RKN launched in its first phase in March 2006. With support from The John R. Oishei Foundation, RKN will reach full build-out by May 2008. Read More
